It has been so wonderful to see all the West Siders on Zoom! Did you know, Monica in First Grade has been studying spiders her WHOLE LIFE? And, Ulysses in Fourth Grade has the California quail living in his yard. Also, 3rd graders played Garden Bingo today!
Classes are having regular "garden" time with Miss Stefanie. Students will be studying topics such as compost/garbage/recycling, water, West Side plants, seasons, agriculture, insects etc. Garden time will include guest speakers, videos, challenges, games, virtual field trips, and tours of student gardens. Look out for seasonal plant hunts also. Surely students have been noticing pumpkins. Each curriculum pickup will include a project (October = poppy seeds).
Don't forget: the Harvest of the Month for October is Broccoli. Happy Autumn!
