We at West Side are always striving to provide the highest quality, most innovative programming for our students. The arts—such as visual art, music, theater, and dance—are a central part of our school. They are a tool for learning across all subjects and help with self-confidence and problem solving skills, support social-emotional learning, and bring joy and fun to our day!
This year we are very excited to announce the formation of the West Side Arts Equity Committee. This will be a welcoming, enthusiastic group of West Side staff and parents who will gather in support of the arts at West Side School. Projects may include, but are not limited to: brainstorming new arts programs for the school, researching funding opportunities, and connecting with forward-thinking local arts resources. Together we will help our school provide even more arts programs that are culturally relevant to our students and families, that speak to our area’s history and environment, and that help teachers to integrate the arts in all subjects.
Come be a West Side arts champion, and join us for our first meeting in March! We welcome parents from ALL backgrounds. We will have Spanish speakers to help with translation as needed.
