ISOLATION UPDATE (when someone has COVID): SCDPH has aligned Isolation protocols with the state's guidelines. When students or staff have COVID, they must stay home for at least five days. Isolation can end after five days as long as symptoms are not present or are resolving and receive a negative antigen test.
QUARANTINE UPDATE (when someone is exposed without masks to someone who has COVID, or for over 15 minutes over the course of the day with masks): Once students or staff are vaccinated, they do not have to quarantine. They should monitor for symptoms and test on the fifth day after the exposure. Quarantine for unvaccinated students is 7-10 days.
VACCINATION CLINICS: West Side students are welcome at Healdsburg vaccination clinics. The next one is February 4th. SCOE is planning a vaccination clinic open to all students and their families. We'll let you know when we know the details. Please look for information here: SCOE Vaccination Clinics
HOME TESTS: We will be sending home antigen tests with each student in Wednesday Mail. Please follow the instructions included and let us know by calling or emailing the office (707.433.3923 ext 10 [email protected]) if a student receives a positive result. Testing is strongly recommended.
We've been advised by SCOE that FDA approved over-the-counter home tests are now acceptable for confirmation that a student does not have the COVID virus if they are experiencing symptoms or have been exposed. Please email [email protected] a photo of the result with the child's name and the date written on the test card.
Thank you for continuing to communicate with us about exposures outside of school. We are handling each situation by following current protocols.
What's in the office? Antigen tests and extra masks for students continue to be available.
Sonoma County Office of Education and Department of Public Health are working on updates to the protocols. As always we will share them with you and post them on the website.
If you have questions, please call the office. We are very grateful that the West Side community is focused on keeping students and staff healthy so that the primary task -- providing your students with the best educational experience possible -- can be our staff's focus.
