The visual arts program has been busy working on our project for the Young Artists Show at Healdsburg Center for the Arts (March 13th-April 6th, reception March 15th, 4-6pm). We will be making a photo booth complete with fantastical hats and props—like a gold banana race car…4th-6th grades get to work with visiting artist, Levi Miller, for the next few weeks. They are currently making drawings inspired by the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
AND the Peptoc hotline got even more press last week with a visit by a camera crew form NBC. They interviewed several students for a follow-up piece on the impact of our project for NBC Nightly News, Kids Edition. I do not have a definitive date for when it is aired, but I heard that it may be March 2nd. More into soon!
