Writers Club Excerpt - response to the prompt: I wake up somewhere unusual and have to find my way to school....

Uh, where am I?
And, oh no
I'm late for school.
How do I even get to school?
Maybe I should make a pickle car
and drive to school.
Where are the pickles?
Don't all homes have pickles?

For the arts program, Ms. Jessica and Ms. Asherah are busy working on large puppets for the Climate Parade on April 22nd (look for flyers in next week’s Wednesday mail)! For the theater skills and movement class, Ms. Asherah is working with 4th, 5th, and 6th graders on student-directed skits.

Take a moment to find a tulip! Earlier this school year, students planted tulip bulbs in front of school. They are blooming!

This year is Healdsburg's first ever Earth Day Climate Fest, an afternoon filled with over 40 educational booths and activities to support a positive future in the face of climate change. For our part, there will be an Earth Protectors Parade that your students are involved in! The theme is the four elements-- Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water, and all that flourishes under the sun.

In the Garden: On rainy days, Bobcats have been sketching and studying The Grey Fox.
Even Coco likes to be read to!

For visual art, we have finished our projects for the Young Artists Show, which opens March 14th at Little Saint, Healdsburg! K-2 Made drawings of their fantasy farmer’s market booth, and 3-6th invented new culinary tools.

The next 6 weeks will be dedicated to making puppets for the Climate Action Flash Mob Parade on April 22nd in the Healdsburg Plaza. Each class will create puppets based on a particular theme, such as water, air, and earth. We hope to have a mini parade at school on April 21st so that all students can participate.

Oh, and last week we also made spring flower drawings with our bodies in K and 1st!

This year the Felta Fiesta will take place on Saturday April 1st from 4:30 to 8:30
at the Krug Event Center in Healdsburg.
