West Side continued the tradition of participating in the National Read Across America last Friday. It was a day to celebrate reading. Local company, L3 Harris helped out with the celebration this year. Volunteers helped with centers and gave a copy of The Magnificent Makers to all students from first grade to fourth. Thank you both to L3 Harris and all of the parent volunteers who helped to make it a special day.

Coach Tiff says:
We have been doing a little rain dance in PE the last few weeks. The much needed rain has had us
sticking to the blacktop and revisiting some all time favorite games like Kickball, Basketball and Hoop-la-la. We will be moving on to the field as soon as we can for volleyball and baseball. Please make sure to send your students with proper shoes for PE. Rain boots are hard to move around in.

Third Grade is raising about 50 steelhead trout eggs in their classroom aquarium. Mr. Fred Leoni, a local volunteer and fisherman, delivered the eggs to our class and answered the many questions 3rd graders had about steelhead trout. On Fridays 3rd grade does a Star Student Sharing. Lucy brought in obsidian arrowheads and other rocks to show the class, and Jaxon brought an alligator head to show.
